Switch Superstar Duo: Jason and Edmund.
This month, we have two Superstars to introduce. Why? You may ask. Both have presented an outstanding sales performance and both have gained recognition from their outlet’s person-in-charge. Jason, a Switcher based at Switch@Gurney Plaza, Penang, is being described as a responsible Switcher and great helper in the daily operation of Switch@Gurney Plaza, Penang. Edmund, a Switcher based at Switch@The Spring, is being described as one of the most hardworking Switchers.
(Jason – J, Edmund – E)
Q: First of all, congratulations for being nominated as October 2009’s Switch Superstar! So tell us a bit about yourself, where are you from, your age, what do you do beside working at Switch, you know, the personal stuff.
J: Hi, I’m Jason. First of all, big thanks to the company for the opportunity to work and to learn. Another thanks to all the crews for all the help and guidance. A little bit about myself, I’m 22 years old and I’m from Bukit Mertajam, Penang. I enjoy going to the movies and travel.
E: My name is Edmund, I’m 19 years old, and I’m from Kuching. I love going to places in Kuching to try different food. That is why I love telling people that ‘I can’t live without food’!
Q: When did you join Switch, and what made you join?
J: I’ve been with Switch for more than 2 years. I joined the company during the middle of July 2007, with the intention of wanting to know how Mac works.
E: I joined Switch@The Spring since July 9th 2009. I wanted, and of course willing to learn new things, especially regarding Apple products.
Q: Please describe your typical day at work.
J: I talk to customers, provide them with solutions. Apart from that, I get to be involved in product merchandising, conducting small group training or discussions among the crews, and a lot more.
E: I wake up around 8am and get myself ready for work. I normally start working at 10am. Stock checking, follow up on customers, explain and make my customers feel confidence with Mac are some of my daily (and main) tasks.
Q: What is your favourite part of working at Switch?
J: Having the opportunity to meet and learn from different people with many interesting experiences.
E: What I like about working here is the friendly environment and teamwork.
Q: Can you share with us the most important thing that you’ve learned from working at Switch?
J: I’ve learned a lot over the past 2 years and it is hard for me to tell which is the most important one. Of all, working at Switch has made me learned that the success of everything and anything that we do depends on how much we are committed to it.
E: Most importantly, what I have learn here is co-operation and non-racial boundaries between colleagues here and the advanced technology of Mac.
Q: What advice would you give to other Switchers (your colleagues) at work?
J: Have fun. It makes everything simpler. Cheers!
E: Co-operation is a very important value to be practiced because when we work together as one, we can certainly do everything!
