Q: First of all, congratulations for being nominated as February 2010’s Switch Superstar! So tell us a bit about yourself, where are you from, your age, what do you do beside working at Switch, you know, the personal stuff.

M: Before I start, I would like to thank Switch for the nomination! My name is Marvin Ooi and I’m 20 this year. I’m from Penang, staying around Penang International Airport. Therefore, I’m working in Switch@QueensBay Mall. Apart from working with Switch, I am also having my Accounting Course at TARC College.

Q: When did you join Switch, and what made you join?

M: I started by job with Switch in end of July 2009. Before joining Switch, I actually bought an iPod from them and I saw a lot of Apple’s products! They are all so amazing and then I decided to join Switch to expand my knowledge in all those wonderful Apple products.

Q: Please describe your typical day at work.

M: Majority of my working shifts will be from the afternoon until closing, it was because that I have to attend to my classes in the morning. Whenever when I arrive in the outlet, the first thing I will do was to check on my customer’s collection. Making sure my customers have collected their items which they have ordered is part of my main responsibility as a crew in Switch.

Q: What is your favourite part of working at Switch?

M: My favourite part of working with Switch is that I can see customers walking out of the outlet with a Smile and watching them turning into a Switcher one day. Another favourite part working in Switch was the happiness in working together with my helpful and friendly colleagues. It is an enjoyment working with the team.

Q: Can you share with us the most important thing that you’ve learned from working at Switch?

M: Besides all the Apple knowledge that Switch have provided me, I’ve also learned how to control my own emotion, regardless of the situation that I am facing. Staying calm and observe is the key word I always remind myself.

Q: What advice would you give to other Switchers (your colleagues) at work?

M: Love and passion on everything we do, sharing knowledge among the crews. Together, we can bring Switch to a new higher level!
