(Eric – E)
Q: First of all, congratulations for being nominated as March 2010’s Switch Superstar! So tell us a bit about yourself, where are you from, your age, what do you do beside working at Switch, you know, the personal stuff.
E: your age, what do you do beside working at Switch, you know, the personal stuff.
Before I start, I would like to thank my seniors (Peter, Julian, Yuvin and Yonn Vern) who had provide me great guidance and being a very good mentor in Switch Sunway Carnival. Without them, I wouldn’t be nominated as the Superstar for the month of March. Well, my name is Eric Ong and I’m 19 years old. Just finished my STPM and currently considering on where to pursue my studies.
Q: When did you join Switch, and what made you join?
E: I joined Switch two months ago which is at December 2009. Well, I was a better user in Windows OS before I know Mac. So, Mac OS caught my attention and I was keen to know more about them!
Q: Please describe your typical day at work.
E: Well I am a workaholic, so most of my working hours will be from 10am to 10pm everyday. My job is to make sure that the store is clean, stocks inventory are balance, doing sales as well as cash settlements, last but not least is registering new users to Maxis for their iPhone purchases.
Q: What is your favourite part of working at Switch?
E: The teamwork I had with my colleagues is the favourite part of working with Switch. Working together is a team and helping each other out whenever they are in need is another motivation to me. Furthermore, I have a lot of fun being with my team mates in such a friendly and enjoying working environment.
Q: Can you share with us the most important thing that you’ve learned from working at Switch?
E: Responsibility and Punctuality. Before I start working with Switch, I was actually a vert clumsy guy and I am even late for my first interview with Switch. After a lot of earful advice, I finally realize that these values are essential. Not only while working but also in my life. Thus, I would like to take this opportunity to thank my superior (Peter and Julian) for teaching me the most important values in my life.
Q: What advice would you give to other Switchers (your colleagues) at work?
E: To all current and future Switchers, working with Switch is not only about learning Mac or Apple products but it is also learning how to work as a team and learning new values in our life.
